Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Solid First Step has taken and continues to take to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our organisation or supply chain.
Our organisation
Solid First Step is a UK-based platform that helps 16–24 year-olds access careers support, mentoring and employment opportunities in partnership with FE colleges, universities and employment hubs.
Our commitment
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and any form of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships.
Our supply chain
Our supply chain consists primarily of technology providers, cloud infrastructure partners, and professional service firms — sectors we consider low risk. We nonetheless expect all suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Policies
We maintain policies covering safeguarding, whistleblowing, equal opportunities, and supplier conduct. Staff and mentors are made aware of these policies as part of onboarding.
Due diligence
We assess new suppliers and partners for modern slavery risk before onboarding and reserve the right to terminate relationships where concerns arise.
Training and awareness
Team members with responsibility for procurement, safeguarding, or partner relationships receive training on identifying and responding to modern slavery risks.

This statement has been approved by the Solid First Step leadership team and will be reviewed and updated annually.
